With over 400 members involved in 21.5.800, we have created a small intentional Artists Colony and Yoga Village.
It’s an exciting time for all of us with such a great turn out, so I thought I would post some practical as well as philosophical bits to help us maximize the community aspect of 21.5.800, which is really at the heart of the project/challenge.
* A special 21.5.800 list has been created for you!
You can find it on my twitter page. I’ve created a brand-new Twitter list exclusively for the 21.5.800 community. It groups each and every participant who uses Twitter into one easy-to-find place, and makes it super simple for all of us to stay connected. We’ve seen magic happening already with the #215800 hashtag, but guess what? Our Twitter list goes one step further — it allows you to connect with all the other members of this dynamic community by pooling every one’s full Twitter feeds into a single, vibrant stream of collective consciousness. And now it’s all right there at your fingertips.
Almost every participant is already on the list, and once I’ve added you there, your tweets will become part of the group feed without you having to lift a finger. If you’re not sure you can find your name in our list just yet, feel free to send me an @ to make triple-sure you’re there. We wouldn’t want to lose you!
Once you’re in on the action, you can check back in on our community via the list each time you log in to Twitter, and whenever you need a hit of inspiration or support from your fellow 21.5.800 buddies. And the best part is that you’ll be able to stay connected with your new tribe long after our official time together is finished. How awesome is that?
So, if you’re on Twitter (and you really should be!), go straight to the new list at twitter.com/binduwiles/the-215800-community. Hit ‘Follow’, and you’ll be instantly hooked up to the good stuff.
Other ways to be/stay connected to 21.5.800:
* Use the hashtag #215800 to scroll through all the amazing tweets and blog postings. There is some HILLARIOUS as well as heartfelt and inspiring stuff in there, so take some time to look through it.
* If you post a blog about your 21.5.800 experience, include the #215800 in your tweet, so that people can find it and read it.
* If you want people to read your blog, tweet a title that will grab people’s attention. Funny always gets me. And so does genuine. And I imagine that might be true for others as well.
* Take a little time to click around on each other’s websites. Like I said, there is some crazy mad talent going on, as well as people doing super interesting stuff. It could move your life forward in the direction that you want it to go, just by meeting someone, so take a minute and look.
* Read the comments left on my blog. There are amazing energy-filled comments and it’s another way to find each other.
My thoughts and feelings on community:
* The thing about community is that it contains an inherent support system because it is made up of people who are in it together.
* One thing that is fundamental about us as human beings is that we feel very alive when we connect with each other.
* Things we have wanted to do, but are afraid to do, or feel stuck, or alone, become possible in the warm light of community.
* Intentional communities have a specific power. People are coming together out of a like-mindedness, and so the intimacy of common interests and passions congeal into a new-found power within each individual.
*We can create a family of choice. And we all know how important it is to feel like we have choices in each and every moment.
*When we feel supported, we can literally do anything. Support from people who care about us and understand the inner battles and expansions we are facing calms the panic and desperation of feeling alone.
* Even though writing and yoga are solitary pursuits, collaboration is a huge part of each one.
* An inherent joy is released when we “find our people.”
* Being with other’s who are involved in a similar challenge, inspires us to push through our usual limits and find the growth we crave.
Feel free to add your own thoughts and feelings on our 21.5.800 community as a tweet or in the comments. Keep it going !

Thanks so much Bindu. This list rocks! Great source of support and inspiration
A Twitter list! Yay! Twitter is my favourite, I’m glad it’s a tool in this wonderful challenge.
The hashtag has been very active, I’ve had a lot of fun reading all the different tweets and blogposts from people. So many different ideas and personalities, but all in it together.
Thanks Bindu! All the posts and lists are a lot of work. You have put together an amazing community here! I love the Twitter list, it really helps with the high number of participants.

Hello. I’ve joined in a bit late – hope that’s ok.
I signed up just last night – so I’m not on the twitter list. I’m @berleyq
Thanks so much!

I love this community! So many great people all in one place. Thanks for assembling the list. It’s fantastic!
LOVE this! Yes to all of it. It’s especially empowering to know that we ‘can create a family of choice’.
Tribe-seeking and creating a community of people who really ‘get’ me is a part of my life that I’m really focusing on this year. I’m making my way through my fellow 215800ers…

i find that both yoga and writing are about connecting with the universal consciousness and community (energetically, etc.)… and therefore, while they seem solitary, it’s actually the least solitary thing in the world. the macrocosm in the microcosm!
Ok, someone help: I have no idea how to use Twitter, or how to connect it to your blog. I’m usually a bit behind the trends, took me forever to figure out how to use Facebook, lol. So, anyone who could help, it would be much appreciated!
